Sorok Uni December 23,2021
Sorok Uni initially reached out to 500 families and individuals affected by Super Typhoon Odette in Puerto Princesa, Palawan
The team encountered challenges in procuring relief goods, especially the water supply and rice. They had to bring water containers and had it refilled from El Nido and Taytay. Due to the damaged bridges connecting to Puerto Princesa, these necessities became harder to purchase in bulk.
Diesel and gasoline stores have long lines despite of its increased price due to the need to use generators as electricity is down and might take months to restore. Thankfully, the relief operations still pushed thru with the help of Joint Task Force Malampaya, Office of the Mayor, Municipal Administrator, Air Force Reservists, MSW of Roxas, Brgy 1 Officials and Volunteers.
Aside from this, we are grateful for the immediate help of the Uni Group of Companies for its donations and other private companies and individuals. Together we were able to bring hope and smiles to our kababayans here in Palawan. Sorok Uni’s donation of solar lights and solar chargers added joy to today’s bayanihan.
For those who would like to join us in helping our kababayans in need here in Palawan, please send us a message here on our Facebook page. There are still many areas affected especially those in the barrios of Roxas and IP tribes. Tara, tulong tayo!
